The Deputy Mayor, Časlav Vešović, presented to the international audience the investment potentials of Podgorica at the event organized within the Montenegrin Pavilion at the prestigious global event Expo Dubai 2020.

Emphasizing that Podgorica is a city of modern architecture, sports, culture, university center, a city of clean water and healthy food, but also a city of great hosts and excellent business opportunities, Vešović informed the audience about the dynamic business environment that offers plenty of opportunities considering that the town is located halfway between the sea and the mountains, and in the immediate vicinity of the airport Golubovci, the port of Bar, and soon the highway.

Having in mind the role and importance of Expo 2020 Dubai, as one of the most prestigious events, for the promotion of the state, cities and their potentials, Podgorica used the opportunity to present itself to the global audience as an economically stable and attractive investment destination, capital city of the country that is a part of NATO and a reliable partner of major European cities and important world capitals.

“In order to adequately valorize investment potentials and overall socio-economic development, we offer investors numerous investment opportunities, but also to be our partners through the model of private-public partnership,” said Vešović while highlighting projects for the construction of a water bottling plant, construction of underground garages, production of electricity from landfill bio gas and others.

Since this is an event that brings together a large number of visitors and investors, that showed great interest in Podgorica, we believe that the visit will have a significant impact on the further development of the capital through the implementation of numerous investments and job creation, as well as promotion of cultural heritage and natural wealth, as well as tourist valorization.

VII Manifestation of chamber dramatic achievements – MAKADO

Theater lovers will have the opportunity to enjoy the VII KIC Manifestation of Chamber Dramatic Achievements MAKADO, which will be organized from 7. to 12. February 2022. in Dodest hall.

As of this year, MAKADO has a new concept, so it will take on the international character of a prestigious competitive review of chamber works from the region and beyond. Five performances in the competition part will take part in the festival, while one guest performance will be shown in honor of the winners, on the last night of the festival.

The festival council made a unanimous decision that in times when many events are closing down, a new impetus is needed for this very well-designed and visited festival, so the competitive atmosphere and the “Clock Tower” award will be an additional motive for the organizer KIC “Budo Tomovic”, Capital Podgorica, as well as the entire Montenegrin and regional scene. The award will be given for the best play, the best male or female role, as well as for bravado. The jury will consist of writer and playwright Vasko Raičević, playwright Jelena Milošević and actor Filip Đuretić.

The seventh manifestation of chamber dramatic achievements will be opened by the witty drama “Excellencies” on February 7th. After the successful January premiere, the audience of MAKADO will have the opportunity to watch a new KIC production based on the text and directed by Obrad Nenezić, in which the main roles are played by Žaklina Oštir and Jovan Dabović. “Excellencies” belong to the modern drama theater, where the audience will have the opportunity to watch “play within play”. In this witty drama, no one is forcing the heroes to lose their identity, except for their incoherent ambitions and appetite for success, which seems to be at their fingertips…

The second night, 8. february will be dedicated to the Croatian monodrama “Münchhausen” directed by Boris Kovačev, based on the text by Gottfried Burger, with Vilim Matul in the lead role. It is a piece of EXIT theater – Zagreb in collaboration with the theater production MOVENS. Among other things, the play deals with the phenomenon or art of lies, just as Baron Münchhausen, a notorious liar, does. A play that has been successfully performed since 1998. had more than 500 performances, and Matula, without any scenography, special effects and partner support, masterfully evokes all of Münchhausen’s adventures.

The play “Mileva Marić Einstein” will mark the third evening of the event, 9. February. Justin Theater Production and M.A.M.M.A Production – Sweden in cooperation with: ABF Stockholm and with the support of the City of Stockholm, UK Parobrod-Belgrade and the House of Đuro Jakšić-Belgrade bring the story of mathematician, physicist, scientist Mileva Marić Einstein-wife and Albert Einstein’s greatest love. The screenplay and direction are signed by Jelena Mila, who also interprets the role of Mileva Einstein, with the partner support of Miloš Andjelković.

Montenegrin monodrama “Soulfood” directed, dramatized and adapted by Slavko Kalezić, who also plays the main role, will be performed 10. February, as part of the fourth day of MAKADO. Based on the novel of the same name by Žana Poliakov, an inspiring read that is a “sensational introduction to a happier life”, this monodrama takes the audience through various life themes. It corresponds in many ways to the current situation in the world and can serve as an ideal material for overcoming all the difficulties that the pandemic has imposed on man.

The author’s project of Zijah A. Sokolović “Left Right Actor” will mark the fifth day of the event, 11. February. Sokolović, witty, philosophical, cabaret, with a series of examples and a comparison of reality and theatrical art, teaches viewers to understand that they are also “actors in their theater and can be artists in their lives.” It is a project produced by YUGOART from Belgrade, which is also a play, lecture, team building, workshop.

VII MAKADO will on Saturday 12. February solemnly, outside the competition, close the author’s cabaret Zijaha. A. Sokolović “Interludes 0-24”. This cabaret wants to touch the reality and lack of logic of all human action with the awareness that man is trapped in civilization and loneliness that it is his natural state and that it cannot be cured but can be alleviated. On the same evening, the director of KIC, Snežana Burzan Vuksanović, will officially present the “Clock Tower” awards to the best according to the expert jury. The author of the statute “Clock Tower” is Marko Petrović Njegoš.

All performances within the main program will be played in the Dodest hall starting at 8 p.m.

Another novelty is that two tribunes will be held in the accompanying part of the festival. On the topic “Theater and Politics” 09. February in the Multimedia Hall of KIC at 12 p.m., doc. dr Edin Jašarović will speak, while playwright and screenwriter Marija Sarap will speak on February 11. at 12 p.m. on the topic “Theater and Pandemic”. Talks with them will be led by journalist Vanja Kovačević.

Also, within the accompanying program 12. February at 12 p.m. in the hall Dodest will be performed poetic performance MetaLpoetika, which will be attended by former and current participants of the Gymnasium “Slobodan Škerović”. The author of the program is prof. Sonja Šaković.

Tickets can be purchased at the price of 5 euros at the KIC ticket office. Information and reservations on the number 020 664 237.

Flux Identity – The Contemporary Art Scene of Canada in Dialogue with Montenegrin Artists

Flux Identity – The Contemporary Art Scene of Canada in Dialogue with Montenegrin Artists

“In recent years, the notion of identity has been in the center of attention of many scientific discussions and texts, mostly in the field of philosophical and psychological-psychiatric thought. He is also in the focus of research on many art projects, and numerous and different topics related to him are becoming the subject of artistic perception.

The Flux Identity project deals with the problems of identity, issues of its instability, the possibility of summarizing various social influences and readiness for change.

The question of identity is a question of man’s very essence. It is his connection with the past, the present and with predicting the future. Because of its importance, the theme of identity has found itself at the center of the artistic research of artists gathered at the Flux Identity exhibition. They develop their artistic concepts by moving through an expanded field of art, incorporating their personal discourse, experiential vision, various artistic procedures and processes. Their artistic practice is realized through spatial, multimedia and interactive installations, drawing, performance, video, photography and digital art “, wrote the curator of the exhibition Svetlana Mladenov.

The exhibition “Flux Identity” is organized in the production of VISART-Association for Visual Arts and Culture, with the support of the Embassy of Canada and the Center for Contemporary Art of Montenegro as a partner.

AWARDS WERE PRESENTED FOR THE BEST IN TOURISM AND HOSPITALITY IN PODGORICA FOR 2021 ?

Tourist organisation of Podgorica arranged the award ceremony to the best within the 38th event „Choosing the best in tourism and hospitality “ in Podgorica, at the restaurant „100 Manira“. On that occasion, awards were presented to the best collectives and individuals in tourism and hospitality in Podgorica for 2021.

The awards were presented by the Mayor of Podgorica, dr Ivan Vuković and President of the Organizing Committee for the awards ceremony, mr Marjan Junčaj.

Mayor Vukovic pointed out that, regardless of the difficult period that is behind us, serious progress has been made, and that 2021 will be remembered as a good year, and in the future will present the foundation for further success and full blossom of the tourist industry of Podgorica.

“For us in the city administration, this beautiful tradition is very important, more and more important because the tourist potential of our Podgorica, only in recent years, it seems to me, is fully expressed. This would not be possible without you, the people who bring this idea to Podgorica, and who, slowly but surely, with your work, perseverance, ideas, creativity, transform this city from a passing station to summer or winter tourist centers, into something which is a tourist destination in itself “, Vuković emphasized and thanked his colleagues from companies whose contribution is also immeasurable, and expressed satisfaction that a number of them were awarded for the effort and work they invest, so that Podgorica is tidy and more beautiful by the day.

“It would not be possible without a very dedicated Tourist Organization, which I know has been with you every day during this difficult period,” the mayor said, recalling that the capital provided financial support of almost 4 million euros to tourism businessmen during pandemics of coronavirus, and that this saved many jobs and created the preconditions for the opening of new ones.

„Together as a team, like one big family, we succeeded to overcome the hardest period and today, to have a reason to feel optimistic and look towards to what is waiting for us during this year”, concluded Vuković.

Director of the Podgorica Tourist Organization Irena Rogošić congratulated all the winners and also expressed satisfaction with the existence of companies and teams, which contribute to the development of Podgorica as a quality tourist destination, despite the challenges facing the tourism segment.

“As you know, the manifestation” Choosing the best in tourism and hospitality “has traditionally been held for more than three decades, and since in 2020 unfortunately, we were not able to organize it for well-known reasons, this year the organizing committee for the awards had a difficult task, but in the end we still managed to choose those who stood out in some way with their work in the previous period. I hope that with this project we will continue to stimulate and encourage individuals and teams to develop their personal and professional skills and qualities, “said Rogošić, adding that thanks to the excellent cooperation between the Capital and caterers, Podgorica was visited by 85,000 tourists in the previous period and realized 170 thousand overnight stays.

In the category “Best companies and institutions” awards were given to: the company “Nemesis”, hotel “Podgorica”, restaurant “100 Manira”, pizzeria “Ćošak”, travel agency “Monte Mare Travel”, event “Podgorica Marathon”, tourist and excursion place Rogami City Beach, magazine “Caffe Montenegro”.

When it comes to the best individuals, awards were presented to: manager Svetlana Goranović (hotel “Ramada”), receptionist Sandra Vešović (hotel “Boscovich”), chef Mirko Popović (restaurant “Per Sempre”), waiter Bojan Stanić (restaurant “Bar49”), confectioner Dragana Pejović (confectionery “La Parisienne”), tourist mediator Žarko Radišević (TA “Marco Polo”), journalist Sergej Ćetković – posthumously, while Mr. Dragan Marković received a special award for improving gastronomy posthumously.
Mrs. Sanja Marković from the Chamber of Commerce of Montenegro received a special award for her contribution to tourism, and the Agency for Housing Ltd. Podgorica for her contribution to the organization of the city.

The best communal workers of the city companies were also awarded: Rafet Musić and Murat Ajvazi (Čistoća doo), Ema Vesković and Hajdar Kajošaj (Zelenilo doo) and Kadri Beriša (Tržnice i pijace doo).
