According to the Law on Residence Tax, on 23rd of November 2023, a Public Call for participation in the allocation of funds for the implementation of cultural heritage valorization projects related to archaeological research, conservation and restoration works, reconstruction and promotion of cultural assets on the territory of Podgorica was announced.

According to the Financial Plan of the Tourist Organisation of Podgorica, the total allocated planned funds are in the amount of 35,000.00 euros, and considering that only one project has been registered, the Public Invitation will be announced again.

Funds in the amount of 7,600.00 euros have been allocated for the project “NFC Cultural and Historical Route #VISIT.PG TAG” DOO Crossmedia Agency. The project involves mapping the cultural assets and landmarks of Podgorica with NFC stickers, with information through text, video and photos.         

The decision on the distribution of funds, as well as the ranking list of projects that meet the given conditions, was published on the website of the Tourist Organisation of Podgorica.

The 55th Mimosa Festival Caravan will arrive in Podgorica on February 13th February.

The promotional tour of the 55th Mimosa Festival Caravn ends with a performance in Podgorica, on Tuesday,February 13th. After Belgrade, Zlatibor, Sarajevo, Banja Luka, Trebinje and Nikšić, the colorful carnival procession that heralds the beginning of the biggest promotional tourist event in the region, will visit the Capital Podgorica from 6 p.m.

The carnival parade, in which majorettes, trombonists, City Music Herceg Novi and members of Maskar, take part, starts from Njegoševa Street across Independence Square, where the central program is planned, to Sloboda Street.

Karavan members, in their own way with music, dance and performances, will invite the people of Podgorica and their guests to socialize in Herceg Novi during the festival, from February 15th to March 3rd.

Final preparations for the realization of the New Year’s Market are underway, and as previously announced, it will be held at three locations: Independence Square, Bećir-bega Square and St. Peter Cetinjski Square. Due to announced bad weather conditions, the beginning of the Market will be postponed to Thursday 7th of December.

“The city authorities, despite the bad weather, have intensified their activities in the preparation of the Market in the last few days so that everything is ready for celebrating the New Year holidays with a rich program that will last until the second half of January. We decided to postpone the beginning of the Market because of the announced rain, with the hope that there will be better weather conditions at the end and we will make up for these few days”, said Andrija Babović, Secretary of the Secretariat for Communal Activities.

We are convinced that fellow citizens, depending on their interest, will enjoy the numerous facilities that will be available, especially keeping in mind that the new thing is a richer offer for children, but also for lovers of old town music, old crafts, craft beer,as well as sports events that will be organized.

All interested will be informed about the details of the program via the Capital City website, through posts on social networks and at a press conference that will be held next week.
