Energy efficiency as a priority – Chargers for electric vehicles in the hotel CUE Podgorica

Since its opening in 2016, CUE Podgorica (formerly CentreVille Hotel & Experiences) has been fully committed to reducing environmental impact by implementing an ongoing strategy based on its protection.

This is supported by the fact that CUE Podgorica was awarded the Green Key, the leading international environmental label for tourist and catering facilities, based on a number of environmental criteria. This proves the responsible attitude of this hotel towards the environment and the local community in which it operates.

The fact that the hotel takes care in this segment not only through internal daily business, but also includes guests, is proven by three chargers for electric vehicles, which are increasingly used by guests to the satisfaction of management, which indicates a positive trend in raising awareness of the environment in which we live.

“All the activities we undertake are in line with the tendencies for preserving the environment, reducing pollution and efficient use of electricity. Having in mind primarily the international clientele represented by the guests of our hotel, we felt the need to meet all their requirements that are based on our “green” business philosophy. In this regard, chargers for electric vehicles are just another item in a series of those we care about the environment. We are very satisfied with the fact that chargers are used and that there is interest with a tendency to grow “, pointed out Ivan Vučić, maintenance manager of the hotel CUE Podgorica.

Hotel guests use some of the three electric vehicle chargers on the -4 level of The Capital Plaza Center, as part of the hotel parking lot. The location of the charger is easily accessible through Google search and Chargemap.

CUE Podgorica will continue to practice the so-called “Green” business philosophy, to improve practices and involve various social actors, in order to give its maximum contribution to the preservation of the environment.

TOURIST ORGANISATION OF PODGORICA CONTINUES WITH THE MISSION OF CREATING ART ON THE STREETS OF THE CAPITAL

The Tourist Organisation of Podgorica, with the support of the Montenegrin Electricity Distribution System, continues to contribute to the mission of beautification and urbanization on which the Capital City Podgorica is actively working.

Street art is the artistic direction and decoration and soul of many metropolises, and as such is always attractive to tourists.

Artistic interventions enrich the space, make it unique, give it life and rhythm. That is why we decided to make the necessary and visually unattractive cabinets for electrical installations in pedestrian zones attractive and give them some new and more beautiful appearance.

In this action of the Tourist Organisation of Podgorica, young artists Hajdana Kostić Hajdi and Stefan Bulatović, with their illustrations with symbols of Podgorica, beautified the part in Bokeška Street and the path near the pedestrian bridge “Gazela”.

THEMATIC BALL UNDER MASKS ORGANIZED AT DUKLJA??

In continuation of numerous activities carried out by the Tourist Organisation of Podgorica in the previous period in order to promote the rich cultural heritage of the capital, today at the archeological site of Duklja was organized a thematic ball under masks, which means that all masks and costumes had to be in the spirit of antiquity.

We would also like to remind that the promotional film Ancient Duklja was recently premiered. The project was made in cooperation with the ballet school Princess Ksenija in order to further valorize and promote the archaeological site of Duklja, which is the most important ancient site in Montenegro, and during Roman domination was the largest urban and commercial center and therefore not without reason we call Duklja Montenegrin Pompeii .

Also, the Tourist Organisation of Podgorica has created three narrative hiking cultural and historical routes, and one of them, called A Review of the Past, trails over the hill of Gorica, leads us right to the remains of the ancient city of Duklja.

This is an event organized by the Tourist Organisation of Podgorica for the first time within its work program, and therefore we express great satisfaction that our fellow citizens gathered today in large numbers to have fun, feel the spirit of antiquity and learn something new about one of the most important cultural historical sites of the city of Podgorica.

As part of the cultural and artistic program, a promotional film by Ancient Duklja by Vanja Pantovic was shown, and the Unique quartet, Tina’s stars as well as animator Žarko Žabac have performed, followed by entertainment, music and dancing as befits such event. Beautiful gifts were prepared, and enjoyed in addition to good mood and good wine, grapes, dried figs and cakes.

The Tourist Organisation of Podgorica will continue to carry out activities in the next period in order to promote the huge cultural and historical wealth of the capital.

A part of the “Illyrian trail” which includes Duklja and Roman mosaics in Risan was presented to journalists from Slovenia

The National Tourist Organization of Montenegro, within the Mediterranean cross-border project “Model of European sustainable tourism MED trails” (Beyond European Sustainable Tourism MED path – BEST MED), in the period from 8. to 10. October organized a study visit to the media from Slovenia.

These are representatives of the newspaper houses “Dnevnik”, “Portal 24 UR” and “Nedeljnik Dnevnik” who had the opportunity to get acquainted with the “Illyrian Trail”, a cultural trail certified by the Council of Europe, which inherits, valorizes and promotes traces of ancient civilization in Montenegro.

The trail, specifically part that passes through Montenegro, includes Duklja and Roman mosaics in Risan and is a pilot trail for testing the suitability of the new approach for the promotion of the “Green Trail” model. This model is designed to reduce seasonality, promote tradition, local cultural heritage and sustainable development with the involvement of local and regional authorities as well as other actors in the strategic planning dialogue.

In addition to the above locations, the participants of the study visit had the opportunity to visit Cetinje where they tried driving an electric vehicle, the Church of the Mother of God in Prcanj, the monastery of St. Nicholas, wineries, rural households and nature reserve “Tivat solila”, as well as companies with sustainable water transport and electric drive in the Bay of Kotor.

In addition to the media from Slovenia, the study visit was attended by a representative of the organization that manages the “Illyrian Trail”, the Danube Competence Center, as well as representatives of TV “Vijesti” from Montenegro.

The project “Model of European Sustainable Tourism Mediterranean Trails” (Beyond European Sustainable Tourism MED path – BEST MED) is implemented within the Mediterranean cross-border project, and it is crucial to follow a common strategy and image for communicating new offers and involving companies, media and other stakeholders.

The National Tourism Organization of Montenegro, in addition to organizing this study visit, plans to organize an online workshop after which an evaluation of the process will be conducted, in order to obtain results that allow the development of a new joint management plan.
