“In order to improve the quality of racing events in Podgorica, in 2020 the Capital announced a competition for the selection of organizers of the International Athletics Marathon, in which, instead of long-term organizers, the Athletics Federation and the Podgorica Marathon Club, the Multisport Academy Meyer gained confidence. The Mayer Multisport Academy has designed a new, more modern event, with interesting trails that will tour practically all the most important parts of the city. We expect that the Millennium Run will become a traditional event, which Podgorica and all its citizens will be proud of in the future “, stated the Secretariat for Culture and Sports.

The director of the race, Igor Majer, in front of the Multisport Academy Majer, which is the organizer of this event, is satisfied with the final preparations for the Millennium run.

“The number of registered participants is growing day by day, as well as the interest of the local population, but also the entire region, to be a part of this sports event. Numerous ongoing marketing campaigns on radio stations and digital media also contribute to this. The official measurement of the track at 10,000m, 21,0975m and 42,195m by AIMS has been completed, we also receive certificates for these three sections, so we are absolutely ready to welcome the race, “said Mayer, inviting recreational and professionals as well as parents and our youngest, who have not yet, to apply for one of the races that are part of the rich offer.

“We have provided the largest prize fund in the region for marathoners and half marathoners, special conditions for domestic competitors, great starting packages, numerous surprises at the race and we are sure that a spectacle awaits us,” the organizers concluded.
