“Armagedonci” is a tragicomic play with musical elements about three unusual characters—people who have “fallen through the earth” and are trapped in a small, almost claustrophobic theatre space. Not knowing what has happened, they believe the world has experienced “Armageddon.” Days pass in waiting and hoping to be rescued, while through their conversations, conflicts, and moments of togetherness, themes of isolation, loneliness, the human need for closeness, and the search for meaning emerge. Despite its dark premise, the play also offers moments of humor and hope.
