“Orla” by director Marie Lukáčová is an eco-feminist rap fairy tale in which a young girl stands up to a tyrant, with help arriving from an enchanted forest.

The author wanted to make a film she could show to her own children, to encourage them to question authority. Aware that, as a mother, she herself might be the first in line to be questioned.

Premiered at the Rotterdam festival, “Orla” brings a slightly twisted world to “Drugarice”, showing us that there are plenty of good reasons not to follow the rules.

We are watching it on Thursday, October 8th, at the Montenegrin Cinematheque, as part of the short film program starting at 8 PM.
