As part of the “Podgorica Cultural Summer” program, Matica Crnogorska, in cooperation with the Secretariat for Culture of the Capital City, will organize the exhibition “July 13th, 1941” to mark the 85th anniversary of one of the most significant events in the recent history of Montenegro. The exhibition will be presented on Thursday, July 9th, in Njegoš Park, through a display of 52 panels measuring 120 × 84 cm.

➡️The display is based on the Matica Crnogorska exhibition “July 13th, 1941 – Years of Defiance and Pride,” which has toured almost all Montenegrin cities and several countries in the region in previous years. For this year’s jubilee – the 85th anniversary of the July 13th Uprising – the bilingual exhibition in Montenegrin and English has been expanded and adapted for outdoor display. The redesigned layout makes the historical material clearer and more accessible to younger generations, who represent one of the target groups of this project.

➡️The authors of the exhibition, which represents a significant contribution to nurturing the culture of remembrance, are historian Adnan Prekić, historian Jadranka Selhanović, Secretary-General of Matica Crnogorska Ivan Ivanović, and the former President of the National Community of Montenegrins in Croatia, Danilo Ivezić. The design is signed by Professor Suzana Pajović.

🔴By organizing this exhibition, Matica Crnogorska continues to commemorate the most important dates in Montenegrin history in a meaningful, contemporary, and engaging way for the wider public, striving to make the culture of remembrance a living part of the public space and bring it closer to new generations through modern models of interpreting historical heritage.
