✨️The screening of the opera “La Bohème” by Giacomo Puccini will take place on Thursday, June 25, at 9 PM at King’s Park (Kraljev park) in Podgorica.
🟣Based on the novel “Scenes of Bohemian Life” by Henri Murger, with a libretto by Giuseppe Giacosa and Luigi Illica, the opera brings a touching story about the love between the poet Rodolfo and the fragile Mimì. It is set in the world of young artists who, despite poverty and life’s hardships, do not give up on their dreams and creative ideals.
🟡Through lavish music and some of the most beautiful masterpieces of his opus, Puccini created a work of art that has been captivating audiences worldwide for over a century with its honesty, emotion, and universal story of love, friendship, and the transience of life.
🟠In this contemporary production, director Claus Guth places the action in a dystopian future devoid of hope, where love and art become the ultimate refuge and the only form of transcendence.
The audience will have the opportunity to experience one of the most significant opera masterpieces on a big screen, in a top-tier production that illuminates Puccini’s masterpiece in a new way.
🤝The program is organized by the Secretariat for Culture of the Capital City Podgorica in cooperation with the French Institute of Montenegro and the Embassy of France in Montenegro.
