About the play:
“Forest” transforms into a contemporary social allegory, where motifs from folklore become a tool for critiquing reality. Through this reinterpretation, “Little Red Riding Hood” is no longer just a tale about a child and a wolf, but about a young woman in a world of power, predators of our time, and the eternal struggle between innocence and control.

The key question raised by this contemporary staging is: “Who are the wolves today – and how do we recognize them?” This opens space for reflection on manipulation, violence, gender stereotypes, and moral compromise in society.

In Tatić’s adaptation, Little Red Riding Hood is a teenage girl, rebellious and eager for life. The Wolf symbolizes domination and power used for manipulation and abuse of trust, endlessly hungry and greedy. The Hunter, through incompetence, irresponsibility, and desire to maintain his position, becomes an accomplice. The Mother represents duty and obligation, as well as the modern lack of time and space to fully dedicate oneself to children. The Grandmother embodies tradition and wisdom, but also helplessness in a world dominated by interest and status.
