Organized by the Citizens’ Association “Gusle”, on Saturday, April 18, starting at 8:00 PM in the Great Hall of KIC “Budo Tomović”, a concert titled “Podgorica, Built upon Marko’s Thoughts” will be held – a stage adaptation of the epic poem “Marko Miljanov and Jusuf Beg” by Živojin Đukanović Zvicer.

The staging of this epic poem will remind us of Marko Miljanov Popović, his life and work, and highlight his guiding principles of humanity and heroism, which he lived by and wrote about.

Accompanied by gusle, the verses will be performed by: Željko Vukčević (Marko Miljanov), Aleksandar Taušan (Prince Nikola), Milan Marković (Jusuf Krnjić), Violeta Krajišnik (Fata), Jelena Miljanić (Kaduna), Dragomir Perović (servant), Marko Novović (servant), as well as narrators: Maksim Vojvodić, Milomir Trebješanin, Srđan Avdalović, Nikola Krivokapić, Miroslav Tanović, and Luka Zečević.

With this concert, the third presented to the Podgorica audience, UG “Gusle” continues its mission of promoting the gusle and epic poetry as a relevant stage form rooted in our cultural identity.
