🐱 MathCat 2026 — a mathematics flash mob for adults!

But if your child claims they are already an adult — bring them along too! 😉 The recommended age for participants is 10 and above.

We are gathering at the library in Podgorica to forget about our obligations for an hour and a half and solve interesting mathematical problems — for fun, independently, with the option for an additional team ranking.

You don’t need to be a math whiz — curiosity and a willingness to give it a try are all it takes.

🧩 First, you look through the problems of all five difficulty levels, and only then do you choose the suitable one. Isn’t that great — it’s like choosing your own questions on an exam! 😄 There are 10 problems waiting for you and 90 minutes to find the solutions.

👥 Everyone participates individually, and you can additionally compete as a team: the Popovićs against the Petrovićs, marketing against developers, the Ministry of Education against the Ministry of Finance, for example… 😉

A team consists of 2–5 members. Each member solves the problems of their own difficulty level independently, and the levels within the team must not be repeated. You can all choose the same language or different languages — the language of mathematics is common to everyone!

Last year, MathCat brought together more than 92,000 participants from 13 countries, including Montenegro. This year we are hanging out again — in Podgorica!

The event takes place on Saturday, November 28th, 2026, gathering at 2:00 PM with the start at 2:30 PM at the “Radosav Ljumović” National Library in Podgorica. Problems will be available in Russian, Montenegrin, and English, and participation is free.
