The play "THE CRNOJEVICI" on November 2nd on the Main Stage of the CNP🎭

The Montenegrin National Theatre opens its 73rd season with the play “The Crnojevici,” which brings to the stage on November 2nd the story of the dynasty that marked the history of the Zeta state in the second half of the 15th and early 16th centuries. Maja Todorović wrote the drama at the invitation of the national theatre, focusing on the political struggles, the fates of the rulers, and the cultural mission of the Crnojević dynasty. However, the play does not dwell solely on the past. Through the story of a dynasty that shaped the foundations of Montenegrin statehood, it opens up questions of identity, culture, and heritage, as well as our relationship to what we leave behind for future generations. “This is a story that demands to be told now, because from what is forgotten, that which defines us most deeply is often born,” states the directorial explication by Ana Vukotić.

The cast includes: Mirko Vlahović, Ana Vujošević, Luka Stanković, Anja Misović, Pavle Prelević, Momčilo Otašević, and Zoran Vujović. The dramaturgy is signed by Željka Udovičić-Pleština, who worked on the adaptation with Vukotić. The set design is by Vanja Magić, costumes by Leo Kulaš and Dejan Radulović, and music by Aleksandar Radunović. Stage movement and choreography are done by Sonja Vukićević, video by Ivan Marušić Klif, while light design is handled by Vanja Magić and Ana Vukotić.

“The Crnojevićs” thus open the new CNP season with a story that connects historical heritage with questions that remain relevant today.

*Repertoires during the new season will also be available on all flights of the national airline, Air Montenegro.
*The proud friend of CNP is Crnogorska komercijalna banka.
