🆕 #SAVETHEDATE | ✨ Anka Burić – “Gifted Time”

🔹 An exhibition by academic artist Anka Burić, entitled “Gifted Time”, will open on Thursday, 15 October, at 8 PM at the Modern Gallery.

🔹 The exhibition is curated by art historians Ljiljana Karadžić and Julka Marinković.

🔹 In her accompanying text, Ljiljana Karadžić writes, among other things:

“The exhibition ‘Gifted Time’ features drawings by Anka Burić created over the past five years. Grouped into several thematic units, they reveal different registers of her distinctive drawing language, shaped by various inner states and life situations. Although they differ in expression and atmosphere, they are united by the continuity of her artistic hand and the immediacy with which personal experience is translated into visual form.

The title ‘Gifted Time’ stems from a simple yet fundamental truth: time is given to us, but we do not know how much of it we have. Its value therefore lies not only in its duration, but also in how we choose to fill it. In Anka Burić’s work, this value is affirmed through the very act of creation: personal experience is transformed through drawing into an artistic expression that acquires universal meaning.

In this sense, ‘Gifted Time’ can also be understood as an affirmation of creative vitality and the joy of living. The continuity of drawing, driven by a variety of inner impulses, bears witness to art as a way of living, thinking, and relating to the world.”
