🔹 The exhibition by academic artist Ljiljana Kolundžić, titled “The Line of the Face” (“Linija lica”), will open on Tuesday, September 8, at 8:00 PM at the Modern Gallery.

🔹 The curator of the exhibition is art historian Ljiljana Karadžić.

🔹 In her review, Ljiljana Karadžić notes, among other things:

“Over the past few years, Ljiljana Kolundžić has been developing a cycle of drawings that confirms her permanent dedication to drawing as an autonomous artistic medium. These works are created in a single, concentrated creative momentum, relying on the certainty of the stroke and trust in the intensity of the first impulse, yet simultaneously revealing a signature shaped by long experience. Here, the line is not a means leading to a painting; it is the place where thought and movement occur simultaneously. Therefore, each drawing acts as an immediate record of an inner state, but also as a complete visual entity…

At first glance, the drawings leave an impression of spontaneous lightness. However, behind this immediacy lies exceptional discipline. The economy of expression is never a result of chance. The artist knows exactly where the stroke should stop, where the emptiness should remain untouched, and where a single gesture can replace an entire modulation. Such certainty does not arise from speed, but from a deep trust in drawing as the most honest form of visual thinking. Speed is not an aesthetic effect but a working method. It allows thought and movement to unfold almost simultaneously, without subsequent rationalization. That is why the economy of expression feels convincing – not as a style, but as a consequence of long experience.”
