The 11th edition of the Džada Film Fest begins on Monday, August 31st, with the grand opening in Svetozara Markovića Street, starting at 8 PM (20:00 h).
The festival, which has been bringing film stories directly to the audience under the open sky in Podgorica for more than a decade, will be officially opened by the prominent Croatian director and screenwriter Danilo Šerbedžija.
The first festival night brings two films, two authorial perspectives, and two stories about what happens behind the scenes of seemingly ordinary life. The program opens with the Montenegrin premiere of “A Beautiful Day” (“Divan dan”), a short film by Montenegrin director Katarina Bulajić, followed by the screening of the feature film “Hens” (“Koke”), by Croatian director and screenwriter Igor Jelinović, which has already attracted significant attention from the regional film public.
The encounter between “A Beautiful Day” and “Hens” at the opening of Džada also represents a unique meeting of two generations and two authorial perspectives of regional cinema, spanning from a Montenegrin short form to an award-winning debut feature film.
