“Romeo and Juliet – Scenes of Temptation” 🎭

Based on the work of William Shakespeare, directed by Branislav Mićunović, the play had its premiere on May 29 at the Montenegrin National Theatre (CNP), closing the 72nd season. Repeat performances are scheduled for May 30 and June 1.

The adaptation is by the director Mićunović and Dragana Tripković, who is also responsible for dramaturgy. Set and costume design is by Aleksandar Denić, stage movement by Tamara Vujošević-Mandić, and stage speech and proofreading by Dubravka Drakić.

Assistant directors include Nataša Milićević, Julija Milačić Petrović-Njegoš, Maša Mirković, Jelena Ivančević, and executive producer Vukosava Tomović.

Cast: Srđan Grahovac, Ana Vujošević, Dejan Ivanić, Jelena Nenezić, Kristina Obradović, Aleksandar Radulović, Emir Ćatović, Ana Vučković, Lazar Dragojević, Jelena Minić, Julija Milačić Petrović-Njegoš, Jelena Đukić, Aleksandar Gavranić, Omar Bajramspahić, Pavle Prelević, Luka Stanković, as well as first-year acting students Strahinja Radonjić and Ljubica Drašković from the Faculty of Dramatic Arts in Cetinje.

The authors ask: What would happen if the tragedy of Romeo and Juliet lasted an entire lifetime? The production explores how love remains constant while society continuously reshapes the obstacles around it, confronting the tension between love and violence as universal human experiences.
