Between the Urban Garden Podgorica and the recycling yard in the Tološi Forest, there is an area where all types of waste have been illegally dumped for years.

On one side, people come to grow food and care for a shared community space, while on the other side, they bring waste they have separated for recycling. A wild landfill should not exist between these two locations.

We have cleaned this part of the forest multiple times, but it quickly returned to its previous state. The area is currently secluded, overgrown, and unlit. A month ago, a fire broke out there, which was noticed and put out just in time by the garden volunteers.

That is why on Friday, October 2nd, starting at 12 PM, we will be there again, and this time we are organizing a coordinated action in cooperation with institutions. @cistoca_podgorica will handle the waste removal, while @zelenilopg will take care of the overgrown vegetation. We will be joined on the ground by employees from the Secretariat for Local Self-Government and Cooperation with NGOs of the Capital City @glavni_grad_podgorica, as well as volunteers from @urbanabastapodgorica. We thank them all for their support!

If you want to help, come to the Urban Garden at 12 PM. Please bring closed-toe shoes and your own water bottle—we will hang out in the garden after the action! 🌻
