📣 Don’t miss the screening of the ballet “Cinderella” in its new time slot 🩷🩰
The screening of the ballet “Cinderella” will take place on Friday, July 24th, at 9 PM on the plateau in front of the Petrović Palace (Dvorac Petrovića) in Podgorica.
This is one of the most beloved works of the classical ballet repertoire, inspired by Charles Perrault’s famous fairy tale and the music of Sergei Prokofiev. Choreographed by Rudolf Nureyev, this production brings an original and contemporary interpretation of the well-known story, setting the action in the golden age of Hollywood, filled with movie studios, spotlights, and silver screen stars.
In Nureyev’s interpretation, Cinderella is not just a girl dreaming of love, but a young woman striving to achieve her dreams. Her fairy godmother becomes a film producer, while the prince is a charming, successful movie actor. Through a story of hope, talent, and success, Cinderella finds her path from anonymity to stardom.
The performance also carries a strong autobiographical dimension, recalling the life journey of Rudolf Nureyev – a young Tatar who became one of the greatest stars of world ballet. As a kind of ballet metaphor, this creation also stands as a tribute to the artist who marked the history of the Paris Opera as its director and one of the most significant choreographers of the 20th century.
The audience will have the opportunity to enjoy a blend of top-tier dance, magnificent music, and film aesthetics, in a production that uniquely connects the world of ballet and the seventh art.
The program is organized by the Secretariat for Culture of the Capital City Podgorica, in cooperation with the French Institute and the Embassy of France in Montenegro.
Free entry. Welcome!
