Book Promotion of Satirical Poetry “I Won’t Give Up the Mandate” by Milan Knežević

The promotion of the new book of satirical poetry “I Won’t Give Up the Mandate”, published by “Štampar Makarija”, will be held on Friday, May 29, in the Great Hall of KIC Budo Tomović, starting at 8 PM.

The program will be hosted by poet Ana Đurović, and the guest of the evening will be Dragan Koprivica.

Milan Knežević, professor of Serbian language and South Slavic literature, is a poet and novelist, author of seven poetry collections and one novel. He has published the following poetry collections: “Deponija snova” (2007), “Avlija bivših” (2011), “Dnevnik sitnih grehova” (2014), “Elektronska identifikacija birača” (2016), “Nijemi dijalozi” (2017), “Robijaški refreni” (2020), and “Ne dam mandat” (2025).

He is also the author of the novel “Obala Nesanice” (2021), published by the Belgrade publishing house “Štampar Makarija”. In January 2022, he received the prestigious “Slobodan Kostić” award from the Belgrade theater “Slavija” for humor in satire for this work. In April 2022, he was awarded the most important prize of the Association of Writers of Serbia, the “Radoje Domanović” award (for novel of the year as the most successful satirical novel). For “Obala Nesanice”, he also received the “Vidovdan Charter” from the Association of Writers of Montenegro, making a total of three distinguished recognitions.

He is also the recipient of significant awards such as the “Mirko Banjević” award for the poetry collection “Robijaški refreni” (2021), the “Great Gramata” award from the Literary Society of Kosovo and Metohija (2021), as well as other prestigious honors.
