The winner of the Pula Film Festival arrives in Podgorica!
In 1991, at the entrance to Tenja, Josip Reihl-Kir was murdered. He was the chief of the Osijek police, a man deeply committed to negotiations and avoiding war. “Mirotvorac” (The Peacemaker) is the story of the last few months of his life at the dawn of the bloody Croat-Serb war, which Kir tried with all his might to prevent. The story is told through the statements of several witnesses and archival footage from that era. Even today, more than thirty years later, many elements of this murder remain unresolved, and the potential masterminds behind it are unknown. Author Ivan Ramljak is one of the most prominent Croatian documentary filmmakers of the middle generation, recognizable for his distinctive approach to historical themes.
