🎬 “THE FOX UNDER THE PINK MOON”

Can a mobile phone camera become a tool for preserving our own story?

Sixteen-year-old Soraya, an Afghan artist, is trying to escape an arranged marriage in Iran and reach her mother in Austria. Over the course of five years, she single-handedly documents her life using her smartphone. She captures her escape, daily routine, fears, and hopes on camera, while using her drawings and fox sculptures to reclaim control over her own identity and destiny.

Compiled from this footage, “The Fox Under the Pink Moon” is an intimate and powerful documentary film directed by Mehrdad Oskouei and Soraya Akhlaghi. The film has been awarded at some of the most prestigious documentary film festivals, including IDFA, ZagrebDox, and UnderhillFest.

The screening takes place as part of the 3rd Documentary Film Review, organized by the Network of Cinema Exhibitors of Montenegro in cooperation with the Underhill Festival.
