📚 The “Radosav Ljumović” National Library marks the literary holiday in honor of James Joyce and his most famous work this year with a lecture by the well-known writer, journalist, translator, and columnist – Muharem Bazdulj. The lecturer is best known as a multiple award-winning author of several novels, as well as collections of stories and essays. By profession, he is an English major and has translated, among others, W. B. Yeats, Jack Kerouac, Allen Ginsberg, Paul Auster, Johnny Cash, Bob Dylan, etc., but also memoir books such as the famous biography of Danilo Kiš, “Birth Certificate”, written by Mark Thompson.
☝️ “Bloomsday” is an annual literary holiday named after the central character of Joyce’s “Ulysses” (Leopold Bloom). Celebrated worldwide, it marks not only the day on which the entire plot of the novel takes place (June 16, 1904) but also celebrates the complete poetics of one of the greatest European and world writers.
🗓️🕖 The program will be held on Tuesday, June 16th, starting at 7 PM, and the editor is Stefan Sinanović.
