The screening of the documentary film “Sinai – Where the Shadows of History Blend with Undiscovered Secrets”, by authors Miloš Gačević and Božidar Gluščević, will take place on Wednesday, July 8, at 9 PM, at the Kuslev House (Kuslevova kuća).

The documentary brings a powerful visual and narrative story about Sinai – one of the most significant mountain peaks mentioned in all three monotheistic religions. It reveals to the audience one of the oldest areas of Egypt, where layers of history continuously intertwine with a rich spiritual heritage.

Through a carefully crafted cinematic journey, viewers will have the opportunity to see Saint Catherine’s Monastery, which has been on the UNESCO World Heritage List since 2002 and represents a treasury of ancient manuscripts and priceless cultural valuables. The film also leads to other holy sites in the area – Aaron’s Hill, the cell of John Climacus, as well as the very summit of Sinai.

Special value is added to the achievement by conversations with the Bedouins, one of the oldest peoples of this desert region, guardians of traditions, customs, and a way of life that has been passed down from generation to generation for centuries.

The documentary work “Sinai – Where the Shadows of History Blend with Undiscovered Secrets” opens the door to a forgotten yet exceptionally significant desert area, which throughout the centuries has represented a meeting place of religions, peoples, and cultures.

The authors Miloš Gačević and Božidar Gluščević, from the Native Museum in Pljevlja, managed to depict the diversity of Sinai and the religious harmony that has lasted in that area for centuries through striking shots and authentic narration.
