A panel discussion titled “Montenegrin Sport During the First 20 Years” will be held on Monday, May 25, 2026, in the Blue Hall of the Rectorate of the University of Montenegro in Podgorica, starting at 12:00.

The event is organized by the Faculty of Sport and Physical Education of the University of Montenegro, in cooperation with the Balkan Centre for Science and Innovation (BISI), on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the restoration of Montenegro’s independence.

The panel will feature renowned Montenegrin athletes and sports professionals:

Draško Brguljan (water polo)
Igor Vušurović (volleyball)
Marija Mara Jovanović (handball)
Miloš Ranitović (Paralympian sports)
Vlado Šćepanović (basketball)

The discussion will cover topics such as the development of sports over the past two decades, experiences from major competitions, the role of sport in the international promotion of the country, as well as a vision for future development in modern conditions.
