“Romeo and Juliet – Scenes of Temptation” 🎭

Based on the work of William Shakespeare, the play is directed by Branislav Mićunović and will have its premiere on May 29 at the Montenegrin National Theatre (CNP), closing the 72nd season. Repeat performances are scheduled for May 30 and June 1.

The adaptation is by the director Mićunović and Dragana Tripković, who is also responsible for dramaturgy. Set and costume design is by Aleksandar Denić, stage movement by Tamara Vujošević-Mandić, and stage speech and proofreading by Dubravka Drakić.

Assistant directors and collaborators include Nataša Milićević, Julija Milačić Petrović-Njegoš, Maša Mirković, Jelena Ivančević, and executive producer Vukosava Tomović.

Cast: Srđan Grahovac, Ana Vujošević, Dejan Ivanić, Jelena Nenezić, Kristina Obradović, Aleksandar Radulović, Emir Ćatović, Ana Vučković, Lazar Dragojević, Jelena Minić, Julija Milačić Petrović-Njegoš, Jelena Đukić, Aleksandar Gavranić, Omar Bajramspahić, Pavle Prelević, Luka Stanković, as well as first-year acting students Strahinja Radonjić and Ljubica Drašković from the Faculty of Dramatic Arts in Cetinje.

The authors describe the play as an exploration of how love remains constant while the obstacles created by society and systems transform over time, raising the question: what would happen if Romeo and Juliet’s tragedy lasted a lifetime?
