Children’s play “TOBIJA” will be performed on Monday, April 27 at 12:00 PM in the Grand Hall of the KIC Budo Tomović 🎭
The play is produced by the Youth Theatre of Sarajevo and directed by Mario Drmać. Tobija, a little dachshund, is sad because no one wants to play with him. They laugh at his long ears, elongated body, and short legs, and he wishes he could look like someone else. On his owner Florijan’s suggestion, he goes to the zoo to seek advice. There he meets many animals: the elephant talks about strength, the giraffe about its long neck, the tiger about sharp teeth, the stork about wings, the hippopotamus about its big head, and the rabbit about fast legs. Each believes that its own trait is the key to happiness.
Full of ideas, Tobija returns home and explains to Florijan how he would like to look. From all those traits, an unusual, frightening monster is created. When Tobija sees it, he becomes scared and realizes the truth: there is no need to change to be happy. The most important thing is to stay yourself — to be Tobija.
The set design, costumes, and puppets are created by Narda Nikšić, while the music is composed by Hamdija Salihbegović and Nedžad Merdžanović.
The play features Ivana Vojinović and Mario Drmać. “Tobija” is part of the “Days of Dragan Radulović” cultural program.
🎟️ Admission is free.
