On Friday, October 23rd, 2026, starting at 8 PM, a concert by the Montenegrin Symphony Orchestra titled „Accordion and Strings” will be held on the Big Stage of the Music Center of Montenegro.

Under the conducting of Iva Marzano, a repertoire dedicated to the expressive sound of the accordion in dialogue with strings will be performed for the first time. Two Montenegrin artists, a professor and a student who are conquering world stages, will perform as soloists – Prof. Miroslav Ilic and Petar Balaban.

In addition to compositions for accordion by Igor Shamo and Efrem Podgaits, “Passacaglia and Fugue” and “Symphony No. 1” by the prominent composer and professor at the Music Academy in Cetinje, Dr. Aleksandar Perunovic, will premiere at the Music Center.

Join us and witness the transformation of the accordion from a traditional to a solo instrument of academic music.

The partner of the 20th season of the Montenegrin Symphony Orchestra is NLB Bank.
