Renowned drummer and composer Srđan Ivanović will perform with his Blazin’ Quartet as part of the 19th Jazz Appreciation Month in Montenegro – JAM 2026 on Thursday, April 16th, at 8:00 PM in the Main Hall of KIC “Budo Tomović.”
The quartet will premiere music from their new album “Cosmogonie” for the Podgorica audience, inspired by the theme of the creation of the world. Combining oriental musical philosophy with the adventurous spirit of jazz, Srđan Ivanović’s Blazin’ Quartet, featuring the Paris-based drummer, has created a unique sound ranging from melodic to rhythmic, concrete to abstract, and acoustic to electric.
Since their debut, the quartet has impressed both audiences and critics, winning numerous awards, including victory at the Dutch Jazz Competition within the renowned North Sea Jazz Festival. They have since performed across Europe, Asia, and the Americas and released five albums:
- Finding A Way (2010)
- Jalkan Bazz (2012)
- La mer, la pierre, la terre, l’oiseau (2017)
- Sleeping Beauty (2021)
- Cosmogonie (2026) – a continuous musical journey inspired by ancient Greek myths of world creation, exploring themes of origin, transformation, conflict, and renewal. The album offers a coherent narrative, inviting listeners to slow down and truly listen, with each chapter preparing the next.
Band members:
