The play “Mrs. Josip” by Ana Janković will be presented at KIC “Budo Tomović” on Thursday, April 9th, in the multimedia hall, starting at 7 PM. Literary theorist Lidija Vojinović will discuss the book together with the author.

A Ana Janković, known for her poetry collections, delivers an intimate and unsettling study of a family’s disintegration in a time when relationships lose depth and meaning. Through the main character, the author, as noted by Lidija Vojinović in the foreword, “reveals a profound understanding of the deep layers of the human being,” following the tradition of modern dramatic classics.

Ana Janković was born in 1989 in Podgorica, where she completed primary school, high school, and a degree in Political Science, specializing in International Relations. She also graduated from the Faculty of Philology in Nikšić, studying the Montenegrin language and South Slavic literature. During her studies at both faculties, she received scholarships for talented students and was named Student of the Year (December 2018) at the Faculty of Philology in Nikšić.

Her first poetry collection, “Zrak u magli” (2005), was followed by “Tiha svilenost” (2021), supported by the Montenegrin Ministry of Culture and promoted across the country. She has published poetry in the anthology of the New Sarajevo Literary Encounters (2011), the literary portal strane.ba, and the PAF poetry collection (2019). In December 2019, she participated in the XXII Nikšić Literary Encounters under the segment “Nikšić Poets and Friends.” Among her awards is first prize at the “Radovan Zogović Days” literary festival for poets under 35 (Kolašin, August 2020).

The play “Mrs. Josip”, written in 2013, was shortlisted in the Belgrade Drama Theatre competition and represents her first dramatic work. Its publication was supported by the Ministry of Culture and Media for literary creation in 2025.
