Montenegrin National Theatre (CNP): March 2026 Repertoire

The March repertoire of the Montenegrin National Theatre will be marked by the premiere of “The Gambler,” based on the novel by F.M. Dostoevsky and directed by Lidija Dedović, a concert by the Teatro alla Scala Chamber Orchestra, a guest appearance in Dubrovnik, a performance by the Royal Theatre “Zetski dom,” and the celebration of World Theatre Day on March 27th. International audiences will be able to follow five productions with English subtitles.
Main Stage (Velika scena)
  • March 7th (Premiere), 9th, and 27th: “The Gambler” (Kockar) – Directed by Lidija Dedović. Starring: Lazar Dragojević, Nikola Perišić, Aleksandar Radulović, Julija Milačić-Petrović Njegoš, and others. The performance on the 27th marks World Theatre Day.
  • March 20th: “Pillar of Salt” (Stub soli) – Guest performance by the Royal Theatre “Zetski dom,” written by Aleksandar Radunović and directed by Javor Gardev.
  • March 23rd: Cameristi della Scala (Teatro alla Scala Chamber Orchestra) – Performing the program “Eight Seasons,” featuring Vivaldi’s “The Four Seasons” and Piazzolla’s “Las Cuatro Estaciones Porteñas.” Featuring violin soloist Agnese Ferraro and conductor Bruno Nicoli.
  • March 29th (5:00 PM & 8:00 PM): “Cipollino” – A ballet spectacle by the “Princess Xenia” Ballet School, choreographed by Katja Petrovska.
  • Other productions on the Main Stage: “Princess Xenia of Montenegro,” “The Deceased” (Pokojnik), “Bladi Mun,” “The Reverse” (Naličje), “Tonight We Improvise,” “The Glembays,” and “My Daughter” (Šćeri moja).
Studio Stage (Scena Studio)
  • March 17th (Premiere): “The Stain” (Fleka) – Based on texts by Aleksandra Vuisić, directed by Branka Otašević (in collaboration with Modesty MK).
  • Other productions on the Studio Stage: “Before Retirement,” “Gideon’s Knot,” and the choreodrama “How Much Until the End.”
International & Subtitled Programs
  • March 18th: CNP guests at the Marin Držić Theatre in Dubrovnik with the award-winning play “The Reverse” (Naličje), directed by Boris Liješević.
  • English Subtitles provided for: “Princess Xenia of Montenegro,” “The Reverse,” “Tonight We Improvise,” “The Glembays,” and “My Daughter.”
Production News & Upcoming Events
  • Rehearsals begin this month for “Romeo and Juliet,” directed by Branislav Mićunović, which will close the 72nd season.
  • April Preview: The month will open with a guest performance by the Kruševac Theatre: “And Every Time as if It Were the First,” starring “Dobričin prsten” lifetime achievement award winner Gordana Đurđević-Dimić.
