AWARDS WERE PRESENTED FOR THE BEST IN TOURISM AND HOSPITALITY IN PODGORICA FOR 2021 ?

Tourist organisation of Podgorica arranged the award ceremony to the best within the 38th event „Choosing the best in tourism and hospitality “ in Podgorica, at the restaurant „100 Manira“. On that occasion, awards were presented to the best collectives and individuals in tourism and hospitality in Podgorica for 2021.

The awards were presented by the Mayor of Podgorica, dr Ivan Vuković and President of the Organizing Committee for the awards ceremony, mr Marjan Junčaj.

Mayor Vukovic pointed out that, regardless of the difficult period that is behind us, serious progress has been made, and that 2021 will be remembered as a good year, and in the future will present the foundation for further success and full blossom of the tourist industry of Podgorica.

“For us in the city administration, this beautiful tradition is very important, more and more important because the tourist potential of our Podgorica, only in recent years, it seems to me, is fully expressed. This would not be possible without you, the people who bring this idea to Podgorica, and who, slowly but surely, with your work, perseverance, ideas, creativity, transform this city from a passing station to summer or winter tourist centers, into something which is a tourist destination in itself “, Vuković emphasized and thanked his colleagues from companies whose contribution is also immeasurable, and expressed satisfaction that a number of them were awarded for the effort and work they invest, so that Podgorica is tidy and more beautiful by the day.

“It would not be possible without a very dedicated Tourist Organization, which I know has been with you every day during this difficult period,” the mayor said, recalling that the capital provided financial support of almost 4 million euros to tourism businessmen during pandemics of coronavirus, and that this saved many jobs and created the preconditions for the opening of new ones.

„Together as a team, like one big family, we succeeded to overcome the hardest period and today, to have a reason to feel optimistic and look towards to what is waiting for us during this year”, concluded Vuković.

Director of the Podgorica Tourist Organization Irena Rogošić congratulated all the winners and also expressed satisfaction with the existence of companies and teams, which contribute to the development of Podgorica as a quality tourist destination, despite the challenges facing the tourism segment.

“As you know, the manifestation” Choosing the best in tourism and hospitality “has traditionally been held for more than three decades, and since in 2020 unfortunately, we were not able to organize it for well-known reasons, this year the organizing committee for the awards had a difficult task, but in the end we still managed to choose those who stood out in some way with their work in the previous period. I hope that with this project we will continue to stimulate and encourage individuals and teams to develop their personal and professional skills and qualities, “said Rogošić, adding that thanks to the excellent cooperation between the Capital and caterers, Podgorica was visited by 85,000 tourists in the previous period and realized 170 thousand overnight stays.

In the category “Best companies and institutions” awards were given to: the company “Nemesis”, hotel “Podgorica”, restaurant “100 Manira”, pizzeria “Ćošak”, travel agency “Monte Mare Travel”, event “Podgorica Marathon”, tourist and excursion place Rogami City Beach, magazine “Caffe Montenegro”.

When it comes to the best individuals, awards were presented to: manager Svetlana Goranović (hotel “Ramada”), receptionist Sandra Vešović (hotel “Boscovich”), chef Mirko Popović (restaurant “Per Sempre”), waiter Bojan Stanić (restaurant “Bar49”), confectioner Dragana Pejović (confectionery “La Parisienne”), tourist mediator Žarko Radišević (TA “Marco Polo”), journalist Sergej Ćetković – posthumously, while Mr. Dragan Marković received a special award for improving gastronomy posthumously.
Mrs. Sanja Marković from the Chamber of Commerce of Montenegro received a special award for her contribution to tourism, and the Agency for Housing Ltd. Podgorica for her contribution to the organization of the city.

The best communal workers of the city companies were also awarded: Rafet Musić and Murat Ajvazi (Čistoća doo), Ema Vesković and Hajdar Kajošaj (Zelenilo doo) and Kadri Beriša (Tržnice i pijace doo).

National tourist organisation expects significant number of tourists from Slovenia in the next period.

National tourist organsation of Montenegro has intensified promotional activities on the market of Slovenia with goal to attract greater number of tourists from this market.

One of the activities of the NTOCG is organisation of study visit for tour-operators from Slovenia, who had an opportunity to hold meetings with representatives of tourism industry as part of the bussines B2B workshop, organised in Budva.

Besides eight representatives of Slovenian tour-operators Držina Krumpak, INTOURS DMC, KOMPAS, Ojla, Slo Tours and Galileo 3000, there were also about fifty representatives of the hotels and agencies from Montenegro, as well as representatives from national airline company Air Montenegro.

Minister adviser at the Embassy of Slovenia in Montenegro, Petra Gradišek said that the visit of Slovenian tour-operators is very important and extremly useful both for Montenegro and Slovenia.

Slovenia and Montenegro are already recognised as tourist countries and have developed sea, mountain and rural tourism, Gradišek said.

She hopes that the workshop will contribute in strengthening tourist recognizability of both countries.

Gradišek said that in Slovenia, Montenegro is seen as a beautiful country and added that there is certainly space for progress in tourism.

Edvard Masnec from Slovenian tourist agency Ojla said that Montenegro has a lot of magificent parts, it has sea and mountains and it is all close to each other.

The first thing that attracted us in Montenegro is food, then the fact that there is no big language barrier and as far as I hear, now the airline Podgorica-Ljubljana is established two times a week, said Masnec.

He hopes that from now, people from Montenegro will travel more to Slovenia.

When it comes to the workshop, he said that he has met a lot of interesting partners from Montenegro.

You have some new content, hotels and everything is progressing and going forward, concluded Masnec.

Matej Pajnik from Slovenian turistic agency Galileo 3000 said that he came to Montenegro to see new things.

We mostly worked on the coast, but now the colleagues from NTOCG showed us other parts of Montenegro, said Pajnik.

Montenegro is very similar to Slovenia because you can come to the mountains from the sea in half a day.

I hope that most Slovenians will recognise Montenegro as a good destination, Pajnik said.

He is extremly satisfied because of the workshop.

I am very glad because colleagues from Montenegro came in such number and for knowing that Slovenians are good guests that love your country, he said.

Head of Sales of Air Montenegro Dejan Pižurica said that the workshop is a positive thing, especially in times of coronavirus, because it is now necessary to turn to the region.

We need to turn to markets that are avaliable to us and it was definitely a right move to organise B2B workshop where we can get in direct touch with tour-operators and agencies, said Pižurica.

And with that, we expect new guests from Slovenia.

We have flights for Ljubljana from Podgorica until 15. june and then until 15. september from Tivat, he reminded.

He said that they are in general satisfied with number of guests from Slovenia.

We expected that in the period of post season and now winter season, flights would be fuller but we will do our best anyway to realize promotion of Montenegro in Slovenia in the right way, said Pižurica. He expects that next year, if epidemiological situation allows it, number of flights to Slovenia will rise.

Director of sales in hotel groupation Casa del Mare Milena Milačić said that in her experience, workshops when tour-operators come to Montenegro, give best results.

Right then and there we can exchange contacts, opinions and together, we can determine if potential cooperation is possible, Milić said.

She mentioned that the situation is solid when guests from Slovenia are in question, ecpecially because airlines have been established two times a week.

Market of Slovenia can be interesting in season and in post season, she concluded.

Tour-operators from Slovenia had a chance to get acquanted with attractive locations for vacation in Podgorica, Nikšić, Plav, Gusinje, Bar, Budva, Kotor and Tivat, during their stay in Montenegro. Besides touring tourist sites, special emphasis has been set on culture, tradition, history and gastronomy of said areas.

This study visit was realized with support of national airline company AirMontenegro, hotel CUE and Ramada and local tourist organisations of Podgorica, Nikšić, Gusinje, Plav, Tivat, Kotor and Bar.

Tour operators from Slovenia and Hungary are going to spend next couple of days in study visit to Montenegro, in organisation of National tourism organization. Representatives of Slovenian tour operators Drzina Krumpak, INTOURS DMC, KOMPAS, Ojla, Slo Tours and Galileo 3000 and Hungarian Budavár Tours, Haris Travel, Utazom.com, 1000 ÚT will have the opportunity to get acquainted with the tourist offer of the destination and on B2B business workshops they will hold meetings with members of the tourism industry of Montenegro.

Tour operators from Slovenia and Hungary will visit Podgorica, Kolasin, Cetinje, Plav, Gusinje, Niksic, Budva, Tivat, Herceg Novi, Bar and Kotor. Representatives of Slovenian tour operators yesterday had a chance to get acquanted with the tourist offer of Podgorica. The Local Tourist Organization of the Capital says that they are pleased to support the study visits organized by NTOCG and that they hope that tour operators from Slovenia, after this visit, will include Podgorica in the itineraries for all future tours they will prepare for Montenegro. This time, we decided to present them the potentials of Podgorica in the segment of gastro and etno tourism through a visit to the local winery, said LTO Podgorica.

Tour operators have been presented with the offer of the hotels in Podgorica, one of them being hotel CUE. The hotel said that it has been a great pleasure to have an opportunity to be the host of the group of tour operators from Slovenia and to show them their capacity. This type of visits are important to us because, other than attracting guests to our hotel, at the same time they contribute to promoting Podgorica as a significant destination of Montenegro, located on an ideal position between north and south. We sincerely hope that we will agree to arrangements and sign contracts with them, and that we will soon welcome new guests from Slovenia. We will do our best to design attractive tempting packages, regardless of whether they are corporate / MICE clients or tourists who come on an active vacation, in order to have the best possible stay with us and have the desire to come to us regularly, said Mirjana Delic from the hotel CUE.

Matej Pajnik from Slovenian agency Galileo 3000 is satisfied with first impressions. Yesterday we toured Podgorica and saw two beautiful hotels and winery with Mr. Goran. We liked everything very much and I expect us to see more interesting things in Montenegro, so we hope to come back next time with a group of tourists, said Pajnik. Tour operators from Hungary are currently staying in Kolasin where they had a chance do get acquanted with offer of hotels there, as well as ski centers Kolasin 1600 and Kolasin 1450. Miklos Hoffmann from Hungarian agency 1000 UT said that the first time he visited Montenegro was in 2006.

First impressions are phenomenal, everything is interesting and new to me, and hotel Bjanka in Kolasin and the amount of snow that we saw left special impression on me, especially because in Hungary we didn’t have a chance to see this much snow in last couple of years. Montenegro has a potential for growth on the Hungarian market. For the next year, we plan programs for Montenegro in domain of cultural tourism, all depending on the situation with the flights, said Hoffmann. Tour operators from Hungary will today visit Podgorica and National park Skadar lake, after which a multi-day visit to coastal municipalities awaits for them.

Study visits of tour operators are realized with the support of National airline company Air Montenegro, hotel Bianca Spa& Resort, CUE and Ramada and Local tourist organizations of Podgorica, Tuzi, Cetinje,Niksic, Gusinje, Plav, Kotor, Herceg Novi, Tivat and Bar.
