The tourist offer of Podgorica was presented at the International Tourism Fair in Vienna

The Tourist Organisation of Podgorica, in cooperation with the National Tourist Organisation and other entities from the field of tourism, promoted the tourism offer of the capital city at the International Tourism Fair “Ferien Messe 2023” from March 16th to 19 in Vienna.

“Ferien Messe 2023” is the leading tourism fair on the Austrian market, which is visited by a large number of media companies and over 150,000 visitors every year. This year, the fair brought together more than 800 exhibitors from more than 70 different countries.

During the fair, visitors were informed about the entire tourist offer of Montenegro, but also enjoyed tasting Montenegrin specialties and wines. The atmosphere in Vienna was completed by the sounds of Budva City Music and the performance of the cultural and artistic society “Njegoš”.

Numerous visitors have already had the opportunity to stay in our country, and they said that they would be happy to visit Montenegro again.

Representatives of the most influential Austrian media: “Die PRESSE”, “Der Standard”, “Kronen Zeitung”, “Connoisseur Circle&Kurier”, “Berg Welten”, “Pro7” and “SAT1 Austria”, visited the Montenegrin stand with the aim of future cooperation, and had the opportunity to participate in a prize game organized by NTO CG.

Within the fair, the National Tourism Organisation of Montenegro conducted a questionnaire survey about wishes and plans of tourists coming from Austria to Montenegro.

The visitors were also interested in the offer of active vacations, and were introduced to natural and cultural treasures, national parks and numerous opportunities for active vacations in nature.

The tourism offer of Montenegro was also presented by the strategic partner of NTO Montenegro – the Gold Travel Tourist Agency, the local tourist organisations of Ulcinj, Kotor, Bar and Budva, the National Parks of Montenegro, the Kalamper&Spa Hotel, the Montenegro Stars Hotel Group and the Trip&Travel Montenegro DMC Tourist Agency.

Tourist Organisation of Podgorica at the Tourism Fair ITB Berlin

The Tourist Organisation of Podgorica, in cooperation with the National Tourist Organisation of Montenegro and other local tourist organisations, participates in the International Tourist Exchange ITB, which takes place from March 7th to 9th in Berlin.

It is one of the two most important tourist events in the world, which is exclusively organized in the B2B segment this year. It was an opportunity for the Montenegrin tourism industry to hold meetings, as well as for Montenegrin tourism entities to meet with numerous international partners.

The day before the fair, on March 6th, the NTO of Montenegro presented the Montenegrin tourism offer at the “IMM” (International Media Marketplace) media event. On that occasion, representatives of NTO of Montenegro held meetings with over 20 renowned media from Germany, Austria and Switzerland, where they discussed the possibilities of cooperation regarding the promotion of Montenegro’s tourist offer.

ITB is the most visited tourist exchange that gathers representatives of institutions, organisations and businesses from over 180 countries. In the last year of its holding in 2019, the tourism offer was presented by 10,000 exhibitors, and the fair recorded 110,000 visits, of which 60,000 were from business representatives.

In addition to the Tourism Organisation of Podgorica and NTO Montenegro, the tourism offer was also presented by the strategic partners of NTO Montenegro – the national airline Air Montenegro, HG Budvanska Riviera and the tourist agency Gold Travel, the local tourist organisations of Kotor, Ulcinj, Tivat, Bara, and Herceg Novi, hotels Voco Podgorica, Vivid Blue Serenity Resort, Karisma, HG Montenegro Stars, FKK Ada Bojana, Mediteran, Maestral Resort&Casino, as well as travel agencies Montenegro Tourist Service, Gulliver and Luminalis.

Tourist Organisation of Podgorica at the 44th International Tourism Fair in Belgrade

The Tourist Organisation of Podgorica, in cooperation with the National Tourism Organisation of Montenegro, the Ministry of Economic Development and Tourism and other subjects related to tourism, presented the tourism offer of the Capital City at the 44th International Tourism Fair in Belgrade, which took place from 23 to 26 February.

During the four days of the fair, visitors to the Montenegrin stand had the opportunity to familiarize themselves with the entire tourist offer of Montenegro, numerous arrangements with special discounts at the fair prepared by the tourism industry, and to enjoy tasting Montenegrin home-made specialties.

During the last day of the fair, on February 26th, there was organized a prize game, where visitors to our stand had the opportunity to win arrangements in rural households.

The International Fair in Belgrade gathers around 400 exhibitors from more than 25 countries and around 30 thousand visitors. At the stand of NTO Montenegro, in addition to Tourist Organisation  of Podgorica, there were also tourist organizations of Tivat, Kotor, Ulcinj, Berane, Andrijevica, Nikšić, Mojkovac, Žabljak, Ski resorts of Montenegro, strategic partner of NTO Montenegro, the national airline Air Montenegro and Vila Geba.

Podgorica free ski bus to Žabljak

The tourism organisations of the Capital City of Podgorica and the municipality of Žabljak, the National Tourism Organization and the Chamber of Commerce, in cooperation with TC Durmitor, organize free transportation from Podgorica to Savin Kuk Ski Center, with the aim of enriching the offer for tourists and citizens of Podgorica during the winter months and generating the best possible results for winter tourist season.

Departures from Podgorica will be organized every Saturday until the end of February, at 8:00, in front of Hotel “Podgorica” and the vouchers with 25 % discount on the ski pass are provided.

We remind you that the ski bus on the route Podgorica – Kolašin Ski Center runs twice a week, on Tuesdays and Thursdays, and this project is implemented by the Tourist Organisation of Podgorica, the National Tourism Organisation and the Chamber of Commerce, in cooperation with the Ski Resorts of Montenegro.

All those interested can register no later than the day before the departure of the bus by phone: 020 667 535, every working day from 8:00 to 16:00.

Podgorica Free Ski Bus

Tourist Organisation of Podgorica, Montenegro National Tourist Organisation and the Chamber of Commerce, in cooperation with the Ski Resorts of Montenegro, are organizing free transport from Podgorica to the Ski center Kolašin 1600, twice a week, for the next two months, with the aim of enriching the offer for tourists and Podgorica citizens during the winter months and generating the best possible results of the winter tourist season.

The departures from Podgorica will be organized every Tuesday and Thursday, at 8:00, in front of the Hotel “Podgorica” ​​(Svetlana Kana Radević Street). The vouchers with 25% discount on the ski pass are provided, and they can be picked up at the Info Center of the Tourist Organisation of Podgorica (Slobode Street 47).

All those interested can register no later than the day before the bus departure by calling 020 667 535, every working day from 8:00 to 16:00, when vouchers can be picked up too.

CHOOSING THE BEST IN TOURISM AND HOSPITALITY FOR 2022;INDIVIDUALS AND GROUPS AWARDED FOR THE CONTRIBUTION TO THE PROMOTION OF THE TOURIST OFFER OF THE CAPITAL CITY

Every year in December, Podgorica Tourist Organisation arranges the event “Choosing the best in tourism and hospitality” on which occasion the awards are presented to the best collectives and individuals for their contribution to the tourism promotion of the city during the year at the end.

The Capital Plaza was awarded as the best company in 2022, the best hotel was Boscovich, and the restaurant – Bucca Wine Bar. Avlija won the title of the best tavern, the pastry shop Slatka magija, and the travel agency Congress Travel. A special award was presented to journalist and publicist Danilo Burzan.

Podgorica Millennium Run is the best event in 2022. The best in the category of information service in the field of tourism were also selected – TV Show – Mreža.me, RTCG, Radio Show – Tourist Radio Catalogue, Radio Titograd and magazine – The Collection. Among the individuals, the manager – Bojan Madžgalj from the hotel “Podgorica”, the receptionist – Biljana Bulatović from the hotel “Terminus”, the chef – Vukašin Mitrović from the hotel “Aurel”, the waiter – Srđan Vojvodić from the restaurant “Porto”, the pastry chef – Suzana Dragović from the pastry shop “Sonja” and tour guide – Milica Pavićević, from TA Venn Tour.

Leka Dedivanović was chosen as the best journalist, Starčević Blagoje in front of the city company “Čistoća”, as well as Aldin Ibrahimović in front of the city company “Zelenilo” and Ljuan Rizvanaj in front of “Tržnice i pijace”.

The mayor of Podgorica, Ivan Vuković said that through this event, we recognize people and companies that have distinguished themselves in the tourism promotion of the city. “Despite numerous challenges, we will remember the year in tourism for its successes. There is only one city and one Tourist Organisation that achieved the best results, and that is Podgorica and the Tourist Organisation of Podgorica. I believe that it will be like that in the future as well”, said Vuković.

Director of the Tourism Organisation Podgorica, Mrs. Irena Rogošić reminded that they have been awarding the best in tourism and hospitality for 39 years.

“Every year, it is a difficult choice, but we still managed to choose those who stood out in terms of results. The Tourist Organisation was successful this year, and income from the tourist tax was 27 percent higher, and there were 11 percent more overnight stays. ” said Mrs. Rogošić.

Tourist Organisation of the Capital Podgorica at the Tourism Fair in Izmir

The Tourist Organisation of the Capital Podgorica attended the 16th International Tourism Fair TTI Travel Turkey Izmir, which takes place from December 8th to 10th in Izmir.

This is a continuation of promotional activities on the Turkish market, after a very successful promotion of the tourist offer in Istanbul, as well as a study visit and B2B workshop for representatives of the tourism industry of Turkey and Montenegro, was organized earlier this year.

During the fair, B2B meetings were held with over 100 representatives of renowned Turkish agencies and tour operators, including TURSAB – the Association of Travel Agencies of Turkey.

Bearing in mind the interest of tourists from this market, good air connections, as well as the very favorable business and investment environment in Podgorica and Montenegro, we expect that the intensive cooperation will contribute to additional promotion and improvement of tourist flow.

Educational workshop for the employees in tourism industry

Tourism Organization of the Capital City of Podgorica organized a two-day educational workshop on the tourist attractions of Podgorica for employees in the tourism industry.

The workshop was organized with the aim of intensifying cooperation between all actors of the tourism industry, raising the quality of the provision of tourist services, and finally improving the overall tourist offer of the city.

On the first day of the workshop, participants had the opportunity to familiarize themselves with the theoretical part, while on the second day the emphasis was on the practical part – creating programs/tours for tourists.

Promotional activities of the Tourist Organisation of Podgorica

Tourist Organisation of Podgorica took part in the 43rd World Travel Market WTM 2022 (World Travel Market) and the B2B Workshop in Vienna.

The Tourist Organisation of Podgorica, in cooperation with the National Tourism Organisation of Montenegro, other local tourism organisations and the tourism industry, presented the tourism offer of the Capital City at the 43rd World Travel Market WTM 2022 (World Travel Market), which took place from 7th to 9th of November in London.

Participation in the world tourist exchange “World Travel Market” in London is one of the important series of planned promotional activities, not only when it comes to promotion in Great Britain, but also in general when it comes to promotion of the destination, since it represents a meeting place for the main actors in tourism from all over the world. During the fair, a large number of meetings were held with tour operators, influencers and media from this market.

After that, the tourist offer of Podgorica was also presented at a business workshop for representatives of the Montenegrin tourism industry and Austrian tour operators organized by the National Tourism Organization in Vienna.

There were presented opportunities for active vacations, winter offers, offers for longer stays for tourists during the winter months (long stay). Special attention is devoted to the promotion of Montenegrin cultural heritage and natural assets that make the destination unique.

In addition to the presentation, a business workshop was also organized, and it brought together about 15 of the most important Austrian tour operators, most of whom did not include Montenegro in their programs until now.
