Montenegro at the International Tourism Fair Place2Go in Zagreb

Within its trade show participations, the Tourist Organisation of Podgorica, attends for the first time, the jubilee, 10th International Tourism Fair, PLACE2GO in Zagreb.

The director of TO Podgorica, Mrs. Irena Rogošić, said that it is a great pleasure that they are the host  of promotional activities for Montenegro, which is represented at the fair by the National Tourism Organisation, as well as local tourist organisations of Tivat, Bar and Herceg Novi.

For us, this destination is becoming more and more important by introducing a direct airline to Zagreb, which transports passengers and visitors, not only from Croatia, but it is also a transit for tourists from countries and cities throughout Europe, which we do not have direct air connections with. In the focus of our presentation at the fair, in addition to congress and cultural tourism, that are the main segments in the comprehensive tourist offer of the capital, there are also active forms of tourism and the rich gastronomic and wine offer of the Podgorica region. It is important to point out the biggest advantage of Podgorica, its geographical position. Tourists only need a 45 – minutes driving to the coast and the same time to the nearest, and most popular, ski center in Kolašin – said Rogošić.

She pointed out the importance of highway construction, precisely for the rapid transit of tourists throughout the country.

And due to the still insufficient hotel capacities in Kolašin, conditions have been created for tourists to be accommodated in Podgorica. They can go skiing during the day and to return to the city in the evening and enjoy food, drink and entertainment. Podgorica certainly does not have an expressed seasonality, so tourists can visit the city throughout the whole year, and it was declared by the British Mirror as one of the cheapest European destinations for drinks and food, and I would add also for shopping and entertainment – said the director of TO Podgorica.

During the fair, the Stand of Montenegro was visited by a large number of interested citizens, representatives of the media and business, and a prize game was organized within the Montenegrin stand.

The performance of the Montenegrin actor, Momcilo Otašević, was particularly interesting for all visitors.

The flight line from Zagreb to Podgorica is an ideal opportunity to get to Podgorica quickly. I recommend my friends to visit Montenegro because everything is close. Of course, I recommend them other attractionsas well, such as national parks and cultural sights. My Cetinje is an unmissable destination. The natural beauties are already world-famous and must be seen live. Everything is on time, Otašević said.

PLACE2GO is the largest tourism fair in Croatia and offers exhibitors the opportunity to present themselves, their products and services in a creative and interesting way. So far, over 700 exhibitors from 38 countries have appeared at the fair.
